Website Graphics and Design

Even though websites have been created, used, and improved for years and years now, there still are some bad  websites floating around the world wide web.  The creativity and experience that is available today in creating websites makes it so that there is really no excuse to have a sub-par website.  And why would anyone want a sub-par website for their company when they can have a stellar website?  It is easy to improve your website with a few basic principles:

1.  Don’t overwhelm your viewers with information overload!  The brain can only process so much information at one time.  With that said, a cluttered and overwhelming site can be difficult for viewers to process.  Make it clear what you want your viewer to focus on first and foremost, while still having all of the supporting links available.

2.  Apply best practices to your website.  There are industry known standards for how to set up a website.  For example, the logo should typically take a viewer back to the homepage from any of the secondary pages.  There are dozens of best practices that should be applied to any website.  Most of the time viewers don’t even realize that these have been employed:  they just know how to use the site with ease!

3.  Make it easy for your viewers to contact you.  The main purpose of a website is to provide information about your company so that that viewer can contact you to move forward.  Make your contact information easy to view and easy for people to reach out to you.

4.  Use Graphics!  Use eye-catching graphics and images to attract your viewer.  These also break up the space visually, allowing your textual content to stand out!

In today’s society, your web presence can make or break your reputation before a potential client even speaks to you.  Give a great first impression with a top-notch website.
